EUROPEAN LEADERS INFLUX CASH
A REAL DIVORCE SETTLEMENT
When we think of joint property ownership we think of a 50/50 split on paper. However, a Cambodian couple terminated their 18 year relationship by sawing their home in half! That’s right in half! The husband Moeun Sarim was dissatisfied with his marriage to Vat Navy and told her that he wanted a divorce. He then went to the property with some of his family members and proceeded to saw his half of the property. The funny thing is that he then carried his half away. Sri Lanka is welcoming it’s first title insurance company. The island nation is located off the Southern Coast of India in Southern Asia. The island is home to approximately 20 million residents. German based Allianz CE, one of the world’s largest financial and insurance institutions is providing the underwriting to it’s subsidiary Allianz Lanka. The company will provide residential and commercial title insurance with the capability to produce title reports in the span of 24 hours. Well, congratulations to the Island Nation. With such a large population, I’m surprised that title insurance was not offered sooner. (Better late than never!)
